Are you or have you ever looked for information regarding ‘Working from Home’? If you have I can pretty much guess that you have been bitterly disappointed, and that’s because, in the home working industry its pretty much saturated by scams. The only people making any real money from working from home are the scanners…or are they?
Allow me to come back to this question at the end of this article; I’ve got a nice surprise for you, but first:
In order to get you started working safely in the home-working industry, and helping you earn money from home and more importantly, ‘now’ to avoid the many envelope stuffing and home-working scams that exist to con the inexperienced among us.
What follows is a list to help direct you towards legitimate home based work that will suit you and at the same time, prevent you from being…’ripped off’.
Let's begin by taking a look at my 9-tips on now to prevent being ripped off on the Internet, they are:
Don’t ever pay for work. This is a No, No? If a work from home company asks you for ‘any’ money up-front, whether to pay a registration fee, for materials, or any other item…’this should raise a 'Red flag'…. a job offer is not the same as a ‘Business Opportunity’. They may sound legitimate, but I guarantee you, they are not. Let’s look at this in another way…would you pay to work for Sainsbury’s?
Be patient. First of all you should never rush-in or use a knee-jerk reaction when viewing a job opportunity, far too many people find out that they have been scammed when it’s too late to prevent it. You must always remember…‘people who carry out the scams rely on the fact that many people are desperate for money’ and therefore promise them everything…don’t become another statistic?
If it sounds good then it probably is. People who carry out scams are very skilful at what they do; they have the ability to make you believe their 'hard-sell'. But working from home is no more than what it is...working from home, and shouldn’t be confused with running your own business. I’m not saying that you cannot earn a decent living, but the reality is they are not a…’get rich quick scheme’.
Working from home is easy or is it. Most, if not all people, who work from home probably have to work harder than those who work in a factory or office. And young mothers who have children may find it difficult to plan work around them. You should also consider how you’re going to cope when children or family members become ill, or when family problems crop up, because they will. Neighbours or friends may come visiting in the middle of your work schedule, what if the phone keeps ringing off the hook? The list goes on...however, you should be aware of the endless possibilities that will interrupt your work schedule.
Don't start off expecting high earnings. You should expect to be earning around the national average, £5.75p/h (In some cases this may be offered after a probationary period). Unless the work being offered is highly skilful, any company advertising high earnings will more than likely be a scam…you should avoided it at all costs.
Don't expect to earn a regular income either. Over a period of weeks you may find that some weeks you may be avoid of work…when working from home there’s always the possibility that one-week you will have plenty of work and another you have none...this tends to be a natural state for home workers. It takes time to generate a regular weekly income, because many home-based jobs are performance related. The norm is to start off slowly until you gain some experience then your income will begin to level out.
Research and/or Get advice. Whenever considering a work from home offer...research it ‘first’. You should take a look at forums for example. You can join those forums that are related to the work you’re considering. These forums are a treasure trove of people who have tried out these schemes before you and are in a unique position to be able to advise you on whether or not the position is worth applying for.
Success depends upon your strengths. The trick to successful home working is your ability to ‘Capitalise on Your Strengths’. The way to do this is to think about your own passions, special interests and hobbies…write them down. You may be a keen gardener, fisher man, footballer, golfer, dog keeper, computer game player etc. You may have a lot of experience working with Windows programs, for example, a company offering computer work at home would find your experience very useful. Do you have any writing skills, a secretary for example. This would be very useful to a company who is looking for a proof-reader, ghost writer, or article- writer. Write-down a list of all your skills, strengths, and interests, and see if there isn’t something there that many be of use in a home-working position.
Last, but not least...’Never Give-up’! Successful people are those people who will never say…”I’ve had enough I’m giving up”. Success comes with effort, understand…”there is nothing in life worth having without the struggle to obtain it in the first place”…and money is no exception!!!
